Yes. By Vietnamese law, if you want to drive a motorbike over 50cc yourself, you must have a valid motorcycle license from your home country AND a valid International Driving Permit (IDP). If you do not have these, or if you are not a highly experienced rider, we strongly recommend choosing our Easy Rider option for a 100% legal, safe, and stress-free journey.
Absolutely! The Ha Giang Loop is for everyone. If you cannot ride, simply book the Easy Rider option. You will sit comfortably behind a licensed, highly trained local driver who knows every curve of the mountain. You just sit back, relax, and take amazing photos!
You don't need to carry heavy luggage on the motorbike. You can leave your large backpacks and suitcases securely at our Ha Giang office (The Ha Giang Loop Hostel) for free. Just bring a small daypack with your essentials strapped to the back of the bike.
Yes, we do! Traditional Vietnamese highland cuisine is very diverse. Our partner homestays and restaurants are happy to prepare delicious vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free meals. Please just leave a note in the "Special Requests" box when booking so we can prepare in advance.
Mountain weather can be unpredictable. We provide all riders with high-quality raincoats, pants, and waterproof covers for your shoes and luggage. Our local drivers are trained to ride safely in wet conditions. If the weather becomes genuinely unsafe, your safety comes first: we will pause the tour, wait it out, or adjust the itinerary.
